George Barris' ZZR is such a cool car. It was the very last kit on my grail list, and I honestly thought I'd never build one. You hardly ever see one on eBay, and when you do it's never complete and even partial kits go for $200.

But never give up, fellow builders!

After faithfully checking eBay every morning for more than 5 years, I got lucky and found this complete kit on what must've been an off week for the guy who outbids all of us and hoards all the cool models. Turns out it wasn't actually complete, I had to use a scoop from the parts box, but other than that it was all there.

A few pieces were in rough shape (you can see the marks in the chrome on the radiator box) but I wasn't gonna complain. I was so excited to actually be able to build this awesome thing and put it on the shelf.

I opted not to try the black lines on the body. I knew I would only make it look like garbage.

I left the decals off for the same reason. Just sprayed some rustoleum metallic bright gold on there and went to town.

Now my grail list is empty and I don't know what to do with myself...
