Li'l Paddy Wagon (kitbash)

Built by: Steve Hammann in Carlinville, Illinois

I originally built this for Martin (VW Camperman) Leonard's Paddy Wagon Contest in 2006. In my haste to finish up the paint, I warped the body with a blow drier trying to heat the paint enough to evaporate some air bubbles. It took a while but I was able to save the project by straightening all the panels without disassembly or making new ones.

The chassis and front fenders were carved out of a Tom Daniel Super Taxi snap kit. The body and interior are completely scratch built from sheet styrene. The motor and radiator are from a Pie Wagon kit. The headers are the injector stacks from the Super Taxi used backwards. The cross ram intake tubes are headers from a 1/32 scale monster truck kit, and the scoops are from a Paddy Wagon kit.

Paint is Testors Black and Blue Pearl topped with Testors high gloss clear and the vinyl top is the old trick of using masking tape colored with a wide blade magic marker.
