Li'l Coffin

Built by: Paul Burke in Cotati, California

I built my first Li'l Coffin back in 1964, at the age of 10. This is one of my favorite show rods ever. At 45 years of age, I've had some years to study this car, and I tried to build this one as close to the real car as possible.

First I filled and sanded all the seam lines and gaps out of the body, primed it with Plasticote primer, then a base coat of House of Color white pearl. 10 coats of HOC candy burgundy were then applied, then 6 coats of clear color, sanded then painted.

I plumbed and wired the engine as to the original, and the interior is white pearl with gold inserts. The tires are as close to the real car as I could find. Still a great kit today!
