Ice Tub

Built by: Steve Hammann / Carlinville, IL.

Here is the third in my trilogy of Ice T inspired builds. As with the Ice Bucket, this bash derives it’s name from topless sedans being known in hotrod circles as “tubs”.

The donor kit for this one is a Revell ’31 Ford Tudor Sedan with the top and doors removed. The rear seat was replaced with an ice cooler for those long weekends at the beach and tappers were installed out back to service the onboard  beer kegs. A souped up flathead V8 and ’32 Ford grill shell were added from an AMT deuce kit and the headers are cut down from 4 tube pieces with velocity stacks added for dump tubes.

Paint is Testors Yellow with a Clear Pearl top coat. Wheels are from a pair of Maisto diecast motorcycles. The surf board is a modified piece from the Revell ’31 Ford Woody kit painted with Dupli-Color Metalcast and the surf board mount is scratch built from the header tube left overs.
