Every mission needs a name. This one became the "73 GTO Odyssey".
I flew to Los Angeles to meet my good buddy Larry Ferguson. He's going to drive me up to Vacaville, California to pick up the Goat from its owner, Jim Theobald. But first, we have to celebrate my odyssey with a REAL car guy: Dave Marek, chief designer and senior manager for Honda Americas. Dave Marek drew my Show Rod Rally home page and has his own section on the Rally, Flat Out Crazy!
The Twin Palms is in downtown Pasadena. Originally owned by Kevin Costner, it's a great place for food, excellent brews and incredibly beautiful young women. Not that I noticed them very much--like the Blues Brothers, I was on a mission from God.

The perfume company, Max Factor, marketed a cologne called "GTO" in 1965. There were also GTO cuff links, a GTO tie clasp, and GTO socks for sale. An episode of "My Three Sons" centered on Robby getting his new car--a GTO! The GTO hype-machine reached its peak in the mid-60s. Let's see the goods!
