Monkeemobile
The Wild, Wild Custom Built for and Driven on Television by the MONKEES

  • Original year: 1967
  • Company: Model Products Corporation (MPC)
  • Scale: 1/25
  • Designer: Dean Jeffries

The great ones go show biz! The Monkees customized super-long GTO. This famous car was featured with the Monkees in their crazy antics on the screen. Starting with a GTO Pontiac, the car was lengthened three feet, then cut into a six-passenger phaeton. The car is equipped with wild super stock tires, Ansen mag wheels, and a Dietz chute for high-speed stopping. The Monkeemobile is geared to give 500-horsepower with it's 389 GTO engine with GMC blower.

Dave's comments:

Hey Hey what rush! This is the original kit from 1967 and very rare. A plain-box "blueprinter" was reissued in 1990 and with new box art again in 2000. Remember the hits? "Daydream Believer," "Pleasant Valley Sunday," "Last Train to Clarksville," and "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You." Get the 1995 Greatest Hits CD under the "Rhino" label - - it's a blast! Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, Mike Nesmith, and Peter Tork. Get on the Monkee Web Ring from this Monkee site.

Here's a nice pic of the real car and factual recouting of it's creation.
