Trick 'T' (retro) | ||
---|---|---|---|
Built by: Paul Canney in Avon Lake, Ohio This was built from the recent Stinger reissue (which was created from the original 1970 Tom Daniel designed Trick T kit). When I bought this kit, I had no intention of building it into this retro Trick T, however, when I found out that I could get brand new color replacement decals from the "Decal Digs" section at www.showrods.com, I was like a little kid in a candy store. The decals are very nice, easy to use and work well with clear coating, and decal setting solvent. Luckily, Revell / Monogram didn't replace the cool turtle deck when they morphed this into the Stinger kit, so all that was really necessary was to fill the holes in the deck, leave off the front spoiler and cut down the clear full canopy into this painted from beneath red tinted windscreen. The original front 6 spoke wheels were changed in the Stinger to these Cragar style wheels. I like them on this retro build. Paint is Quicksilver lacquer and the upholstery is candy grape over candy wine berry over gold pearl. Another of my favorite Tom Daniel designs, It's like seeing an old friend you haven't seen in 25 years. |
