Silhouette

Built by: Pete Crane

The Silhouette is one of the coolest and most versatile show rods out there. It's the only one I've built twice, and i can put the two next to each other and barely be able to tell it's the same car! I suspect the add-on fenders and the nerf bars were not intended to be used on the same build, but I love them both so much I decided to try it - and it worked!

I sealed the hood with filler, as well as the seams from the fenders. It was the first time I ever used any kind of sealer or putty on a build and it turned out pretty good.

But with the big, swoopy front fenders, the fenderless rear just didn't look right to me, so I found a couple of parts in the parts box. I don't even know what they were, but they sure weren't fenders! I had to cut them quite a bit, but I made them fit on the rear for a completely unique Silhouette. If I could pick one of my builds to have a 1:1 version of sitting in my driveway, it might be this one.
