Royal Rail

Built by: Geoff Baylen in Oxnard, California

I first found out about the Royal Rail while checking out the Show Room in Dave's Show Rod Rally, I then spent the next few months looking for one.

When I finally got it I decided to build it just like the box art with very little mods.

The main modification that I made was the crown ribs. I replaced the plastic ones with brass and painted them with Alclad II chrome. The crown and pillow seat was covered in purple flocking and the rest of the interior got black flocking.

The engine and the shift lever knob was painted with Modler Master Plum Crazy. I also wired the engine with purple wiring.

I used a combination of Tamiya clear yellow X-24 and Tamiya clear X-22 with Royal Gold Satin candy Pigment over a Gold base for the frame and body.

I used a moto tool on the header ends to give it a open look. The crown ball and "keg" fuel tank was painted using Rust-Oleum chrome metallic finish.

That's about it a simple but nice build.
