Li'l S'Cool Bus (kitbash) | ||
---|---|---|---|
Built by: Steve Hammann in Carlinville, Illinois As with the Li'l Bad Medicine I did a while back, this gallery submission was inspired by a drawing done by Bill Frauhiger of Tom Daniel's classic S'cool Bus. This was my first endeavor in total scratch building and let me tell you it's not for the faint at heart! The main body was hand drawn and cut out of .040 sheet styrene. The doghouse is a sliced and diced donation from the Revell '65 Chevy Stepside pickup kit and the wheels & base are from a Polar Lights Willy Haulin' kit. I added a scratch built scoop and the windows are made of sheet styrene painted Boyd's Roadstar Orange and the "Little Darlings" are hand drawn with a fine point Sharpie. Paint is Testors Yellow with a light overlay of Boyd's Aluma Pearl Yellow and the stripes are Testors Black Pearl. Decals were done on my PC with the Print shop program and printed on clear mailing labels. I would like to thank Dave Rasmussen for this wonderful spot in cyberspace in which we can all show off our work. Next stop on this ever maddening trip..... L'il Dragon Wagon ! |
