Ice 'T' | ||
---|---|---|---|
Built by: Ramone Hendriks in Eindhoven, The Netherlands I've been a showrod fanatic for as long as I can remember. I remember building my first show rod (Bad Medicine, as I recall) at the age of 12! Man I loved that kit with the skeleton and all. After being away from the hobby for many years, I picked it up a few years ago. The first kit I bought from E-bay was the Tom Daniel Ice 'T'. Surfin on the internet in my quest for more Showrod wisdom, I naturally stumbled across the Show Rod Rally and the Coffin Corner, I picked up many tips and tricks, reading the articles every day! I wanted to give my Ice T a real ice cold look. It is painted automotive ice blue, with a very thin coat of Tamiya pearl white, and finished with 2 coats of Tamiya pearl clear. I dechromed the gas tanks and the nose and side pipes, and painted them flat white and pearl white. The strips on the back floor are done with bare metal foil. Other than that, the kit is build box stock except for the seat belts flocking of the floor, and a little wiring of the engine. I think the red spark plug wires really stand out over the white engine block! The decals are from a Monogram Green Hornet. I had a really good time building this one, and it brought back many sweet memories of my childhood. Hope you like it........Ramone |
