I have been a big fan of ZZ Top ever since I heard their 1st album while strolling through my local JC Penney store about 32 years ago.

I have been an even bigger fan since Billy Gibbons started collecting cool rides. This build is a direct inspiration from their Afterburner album where they had some artwork done combining a '34 Ford with the space shuttle.

I started this one about 10 years ago before I got serious about building. It sat languishing in varying stages for the next 4 years going from front burner to back burner about 100 times. I finally finished it about 6 years ago after being ribbed by my kids so much that I couldn't stand it anymore.

The paint is Testors Red with an overcoat of Testors Metalic Red, and clear with red flake over that, and Testors Candy Apple Red on top. All I had to do was polish it up a little bit after I found the box I had it stored in.
